The
office of Corporate Sponsored Research and Licensing, CSRL, manages
the intellectual property developed during the course of research
within Massachusetts General Hospital.
CSRL is dedicated on achieving its mission, "To support MGH research and enable technology transer", by aligning themselves with their established core values. These core values are:

Within the office are experienced professionals with diverse backgrounds
in start-ups, licensing, patents, bench research, business and law which are invaluable assets in order to successfully
evaluate developing technology for commercialization purposes.
A case manager is assigned to each new disclosure and works with the
individual investigator seeking scientific input, assesses the commercial potential regarding the disclosure and assists in
the decision making process for the filing of a patent application claiming the invention disclosed.
In preparation
of filing a patent application, CSRL will hire patent attorneys
to obtain patent protection for the invention and will discuss with
the inventor(s) a strategy for commercialization of the invention.
